QIGONG

What is qigong
Qigong is a low-intensity healing practice and is a branch of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). This healing practice is used for both self-care/healing and by doctors of Chinese Medicine for treating patients. This healing practice has various styles, all of which are named after animals whose movements were imitated. Those that were not named after animals were named after the founder or by the purpose of the exercise.

Qigong can fall into two categories: exercise and meditation (Foster R & Holden J, 2017), or alternatively known as external and internal as qigong consists of bending, moving, breathing, standing, and performing exercises.

Qigong can be said to be like that of a dance which was created to let patients move their limbs, especially in a way that promotes the flow of their qi and blood as well as, in terms, to reinvigorate their bones and muscles.

Back during the Han dynasty, with a fair amount if Chinese people being farmers, it is said that after a day of farming and before going to bed, farmers would perform qigong so they could feel invigorated and prevent illnesses after having worked on the farm for hours on end.
